Drop is a WebGL demo by Manny Tan of New York City. He is responsible for several demos covered by this site such as unfold pillbug and disc experiment. Drop is the latest of Manny’s experiments and was created with Three.js, Dat-gui, jstween, and Web Audio to integrate the song ‘They Move On Tracks Of Never-Ending Light’ by This Will Destroy You.
Manny describes Drop as “a new experiment that explores a droplet shape and it’s associated views in 3d space. Click and drag to rotate the shape. Alternatively, you can use the scroll wheel or right click and drag to move the shape to a particular view.” To read more about the creation process and how Perlin Noise and Gaussian functions were used in Drop, check out Manny’s write up here.
